Regional Youth Leadership Summit
Regional Youth Leadership Summits
Special Olympics Regional Youth Leadership Summits bring together Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities (ID) at the Regional level. Through workshops and training, young people are given the tools and skills necessary to be leaders in their communities. The 2019 Africa Youth Leadership Summit brought together Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities, National Directors, and adult mentors from 12 Special Olympics Africa Programs. Youth Leaders brainstormed, planned, and shared strategies for Youth Engagement and Unified Schools. With support from Lane Global Youth Leadership, Kantar, Microsoft and Lions Club International Foundation, the impact of the event will continue into the future.
