Online Sport Nutrition and Engagement in Kazakhstan

Anna and Tomiris are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Kazakhstan who attended the 2018 Global Youth Leadership Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan and are leading a Youth Innovation Project aimed at connecting athletes to online resources to keep up with their physical health from home. Through this project, Anna and Tomiris will create an online platform via Microsoft Teams that will have a different sport focus each month. Anna and Tomiris will connect athletes to coaches who can help reach nutritional goals and foster a space to reach their maximum potential.

Over the course of nine months, Anna and Tomiris hope to engage 200 athletes in sports varying from alpine skiing to horse riding to judo and handball. Anna and Tomiris were inspired by a lack of resources available to people with intellectual disabilities to improve or maintain their physical health especially when required to stay home. Anna and Tomiris are empowering the Unified Generation to creatively fill gaps so people with and without intellectual disabilities can reach their goals.
