Unified Netball and Swimming in Slovenia

Gaber and Luka are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Slovenia who will lead a Youth Innovation Project to start Unified netball and swimming clubs in their school as well as organize an event called “Big Inclusion Day” where they will compete against 10 different teams. In doing so, they will promote inclusion and connections between students with and without intellectual disabilities.

Over the course of 12 months, Gaber and Luka will engage 50 youth with and without intellectual disabilities, create two new Unified Schools and 100 social media impressions. After the year-long project ends, the Unified pair will continue growing the clubs in order to increase awareness of Unified Sports and Special Olympics. Gaber and Luka chose netball and swimming due to the fun energy they expel, which is exactly the energy they want to capture in their project as they grow the Unified Generation and spread the message of Special Olympics in Slovenia and beyond.
