Inclusive Orchestra in Venezuela

Michelle is a Special Olympics Youth Leader from Venezuela who will lead a Youth Innovation Project to start an Inclusive orchestra where students with and without intellectual disabilities can audition, join and play together to make beautiful music. In doing so, she will transform the Unified School into a Unified Champion School further promoting inclusion and making all students feel like they are a part of something.

Over the course of six months, Michelle will have 150 members with and without intellectual disabilities in the orchestra, create one Unified Champion School and make 20,000 social media impressions through sharing their music. Michelle believes that music can unite people in the same melody, leaving behind differences and celebrating everyone’s talents. Michelle is bringing the Unified Generation together to sing with a single voice, one that sings of respect, joy and the hope for a better future.
